Pat Maroney was a driving force behind Family Wealth Solutions when he created it with his son, Dan. We lost Pat suddenly on March 7, 2024, and his legacy remains strong at our practice. Loved by so many, Pat had that charismatic personality where if you met him once, you would remember him forever. He made you feel like you were the most important person in the room.

In his 37-year career in the wealth management industry, Pat worked for several financial powerhouses, including UBS, Raymond James, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo. He was a stockbroker, commodities trader, and branch/complex manager throughout his career in Florida. His experiences with “the big guys” only sharpened his vision to create a boutique, family-owned firm that would directly benefit the families they served. His last years were his proudest, co-founding Family Wealth Solutions, with his son, Dan.

When he created Family Wealth Solutions with Dan in 2020, Pat focused on what he knew to be the most rewarding way to do business: bringing together a community of financial advisors and serving each client with care and respect. Dan continues to lead the practice according to the vision he and his father shared.

Pat was born March 24, 1952, in Syracuse, NY, to John and Julia Maroney. Even though he narrowly missed being born on St. Paddy’s Day, Pat always had an extra appreciation for all things Irish. He met his wife, Lois, in French class at SUNY Oswego. They married in 1974, shortly after their graduation, to begin their life together. Their two children, Daniel and Meghan, arrived soon after. The family moved to Florida in 1984 and were active members of the St. Petersburg community.

Pat’s personality was one of a kind, and he was always up for experiencing something new. His children nicknamed him “Peter Pan” since he was so young at heart and adventurous. Pat’s legacy as a family man, financial professional, adventurer, and positive influence on those around him lives on at Family Wealth Solutions and within his family and friends.
